Job Information

Foster a culture of philanthropy within the organization. Assures that Pressley Ridge’s corporate culture, systems and procedures support fund development. Lead staff and volunteers to institutionalize philanthropy and fund development within the organization.

Chief Development and External Relations Officer plans, coordinates and assumes implementation of strategies to develop donors and contributions to support the organization. Assures development and maintenance of appropriate systems to fund development including but not limited to volunteer and donor management, research and cultivation, gift processing and recognition. Maintains accountability and compliance standards for donors and funding sources.

Build capacity for fund raising through engagement and development of volunteers and partners. Recruit high-profile community leaders who will advocate for the organization. Partner with the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors in fundraising, planning and donor development. Ensure that staff is engaged and ensure that critical community resources view Pressley Ridge as the preferred way for individuals, groups and corporations to fulfill their desire for meaningful and fulfilling philanthropic experiences.

Job Requirements

1. Expertise in short and long term strategic and operational planning/positioning regarding development efforts that support the organization.
2. Directing and motivating staff
3. External relations and retention
4. Oral and written communication
5. Marketing and financial planning
6. Organizational development
7. Governance of funding and procedures

Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree required.
2. A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in fundraising and external relations, within a professional position.
3. Certified Fund Raising Professional (CFRE) certification, preferred.

Foster Parent Conference & Recognition Banquet

Pressley Ridge Delaware is collaborating with the state of Delaware to host the first Foster Parent Conference & Recognition Banquet. The conference is FREE; continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments will be served; keynote speaker is Chauncey Strong of Fairfax County Virginia Department of Family Services in the Permanency and Life Skills Unit ; training sessions will be offered throughout the day. Upon completion parents can earn 6 annual training hours.
