Press Release: 7-year-old Boy Wins Shopping Spree

Dick's Sporting GoodsPITTSBURGH – Anthony Catanzarite, from McKees Rocks won a $500 gift certificate to Dick’s Sporting Goods store at the annual Pressley Ridge fundraiser held August 26 at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium.

Catanzarite participated in Dick’s Sporting Goods Scavenger Hunt where he completed a questionnaire about zoo animals and Pressley Ridge facts to qualify for the gift certificate. His questionnaire was randomly selected from the more than 2,500 entries submitted to Pressley Ridge.

“Anthony has always been a pretty lucky kid. Before he knew that he had won, he was telling his cousins all the things he was planning to buy with the gift certificate,” stated his mother, Selena Catanzarite. “When he received the call from Pressley Ridge announcing that he was the winner, Anthony was absolutely speechless.”

Catanzarite, his sister, Gianna, and his father, Paul, have made several scouting expeditions to the Mall at Robinson* store to scope out the selection. Said Catanzarite, “I wanted to win so bad. I thought it was a joke when they called. Then my mom told me it was real. I was so happy.”

“Pressley Ridge is excited to present the gift certificate to a young person, particularly when you consider the $1 million annually in free care that we provide to our children and families. We are very thankful to Dick’s Sporting Goods for their support”, said B. Scott Finnell, president and chief executive officer for Pressley Ridge.

Catanzarite is very excited to spend his winnings on Sunday, September 17 from the Mall of Robinson store.
